Attorney Ribeiro

Val C. Ribeiro, Esq.

Val Ribeiro is a seasoned litigation attorney who has been practicing law in the state of Massachusetts since 2006. For more than decade, she has represented countless clients facing a wide range of legal issues. Ms. Ribeiro is the firm’s Managing Partner and oversees all aspects of the firm’s operations. Her areas of expertise are Immigration Law and Family Law. Ms. Ribeiro’s Immigration practice assists clients who are facing imminent removal from the United States as well as clients seeking to file visa applications, family petitions, asylum applications, special immigrant juvenile petitions, employment-based petitions, applications for naturalization, and BIA appeals. Her Family Law practice helps clients to properly navigate the process of filing and contesting legal actions for divorce, custody, paternity, adoption, guardianship, and protective orders.

Ms. Ribeiro completed her undergraduate studies at Roger Williams University in 2002 and obtained her law degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law. She has been consistently recognized as both a “Super Lawyer” and a “Top Woman Attorney” in Massachusetts. Additionally, Ms. Ribeiro was recognized for her commitment to providing free legal services for those in need when she received the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s John Adams Award in 2014.

Phillip M. Rutahweire, Esq.

Phillip Rutahweire joined the firm in 2016 as a legal intern working under the supervision of attorneys Val C. Ribeiro and Love Macione. In 2018, he was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is now an Associate Attorney at the firm. Although Mr. Rutahweire assists clients facing a broad range of legal problems, his primary focus is on Immigration matters.

Mr. Rutahweire completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in 2013. Prior to joining the firm as an Associate, Mr. Rutahweire studied law at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law where he served as a lead editor on the school’s Law Review Journal. In 2018, he graduated from law school at the top of his class.

Idelta DaSilva, Esq.

Idelta DaSilva is the Managing Attorney for the firm’s Family Law practice. She is an experienced litigator with more than ten years of experience representing clients in divorce, custody, paternity, adoption, and guardianship actions. Ms. DaSilva’s legal career began in 2009 at the Brockton Probate and Family Court where she worked as a Safe Plan Advocate helping individuals to obtain abuse prevention orders. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, she worked at South Coast Counties Legal Services in New Bedford, Massachusetts assisting individuals with legal actions pertaining to probate, domestic relations, unemployment, social security benefits, and public assistance benefits.

Ms. DaSilva completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and then attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree.

Mary Jeanne Stone, Esq.

Mary Jeanne Stone is a seasoned attorney with more than thirty years of experience primarily in the areas of Family Law, Bankruptcy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She has been associated with the firm for more than a decade providing representation for clients in divorce, custody, paternity, and visitation proceedings. As the firm’s bankruptcy specialist, Ms. Stone represents clients in bankruptcy proceedings under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the bankruptcy code. She is particularly adept at representing debtors in adversarial proceedings against their creditors. Ms. Stone also has experience assisting clients with Personal Injury claims, Wills, Real Estate matters, and General Business and Corporate matters.

Ms. Stone earned her undergraduate degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University where she graduated magna cum laude in 1983. She completed her legal studies at New England School of Law in 1989. Ms. Stone currently serves as a Conciliator for the Bristol County Probate and Family Court.
